On June 7, 2002 a litter of purebred Chinook puppies was born in Purcellville, VA. This was the first Lighthouse Chinooks litter. The sire is CH Mahng O'dei's Outlaw Yuch'ann and the dam is Saghalie's Kananaskis Windfall. The litter of nine puppies included one little puppy that, given the royal purple collar, was destined to become the Empress. Scott and Karenjean Krammes named this puppy Lighthouse Mystic Seaport. Patti and a friend drove to Virginia from Vermont in 100 degree heat to pick out the puppy that was the fulfillment of Patti's dreams. Knowing that we wanted a female, KJ only placed the females outside the puppy pen. Patti sat on the floor and waited. One puppy went directly to Patti and sat on her lap, thus it was decided purple puppy would go home to Vermont to be the foundation of Forever Greene Chinooks.
On April 26, 2003 "Doonerak" earned her UKC Championship, on April 25, 2004 she passed her Canine Good Citizen Test, on August 15, 2004 she earned her UKC Grand Championship, slightly less than a month later she was awarded Best of Breed at the North Shore Kennel Club's Fall Match, this was the first time that a Chinook had been entered in and AKC Match, the same day she passed her Temperament Test administered by the American Temperament Test Society, Inc. Doonerak won Best in Multi Breed Show on June 6, 2004 under UKC JudgeTina Camp.
In September of 2003 Patti and Doonerak started taking Agility lessons. We discovered that Doonerak was an natural athlete. She earned her Novice Jumpers title on November 19, 2004, her Novice Standard title on April 23, 2005, her Open Jumpers title on February 2, 2006, and her OpenStandard title on October 15, 2006. We worked in Excellent for a few trials but quickly realized we just weren't ready so Doonerak dropped down to the Preferred class and began again. She quickly earned her Preferred Novice titles and her Preferred Open titles, now there was no place to go but to excellent. We decided that we did not have the speed to compete in the regular Excellent classes so we continued on in Preffered classes. On June 14, 2009 Doonerak had her first double Q and earned both her Excellent Agility Jumper Preferred title and her Agility Excellent Preferred title. She is now working toward her Master Agility titles. Along with AKC agility she competes in CPE agility and has earned her Level 3 Standard title. Along the way we tried a Rally Obedience trial and Doonerak earned her first leg toward her Rally Novice title. Doonerak is also a Certified Therapy Dog and is the spokes dog for Vibrant Pets line of Food Supplements, she appears in their U-Tube video and also in their brochure.
After whelping her second litter of puppies in April of 2008, Doonerak retired from breeding and was spayed in July of 2008. She raised 9 puppies in her first litter with CH Channahon's Northern Kodiak and 10 in her litter with Intervale Rock the Boat all of them healthy and in wonderful homes. To date two have earned their Championships in conformation and one has her Grand Championship and her Rally Novice Title.
Doonerak now goes to Agility class with her daughter once a week and to trials once or twice a month. She rules her pack gently but make no mistake she is the "Empress".
